We exist to worship the Lord through our music in many different settings.
We play every Sunday at the Church of the Incarnation, Dayton OH at the 11:30 AM Mass. We have also played for adoration, retreats, weddings etc. We answer the call to support any opportunity to add our musical gifts to many forms of worship and prayer services.
We have played together since 2005.
About Us
We have been together since 2005 and have played continuously since.
Our journey began playing every Sunday, two masses in the Parish Activity Center for about 800 to 1,000 at each mass.
Over time we have been asked to play at weddings, adoration, different worship events, parish picnics etc.
Our repertoire has expanded as well to cover not only traditional hymns but also expanded to contemporary praise and worship theologically consistent with our Catholic Faith.
We have played numerous mass parts by various composers and season specific mass parts as needed.
We are open to lending our musical gifts to any worship related event depending on availability of our band members.
Our Music
Reverence is How We Play
Our sound is definitely contemporary, but with a focus on musicality and tight vocal harmonies. Most of all, we do what we do guided by the Holy Spirit and in total prayer, giving a lift and power to all the music we play - whether it's a traditional hymn or an original praise piece.
We have the full complement of instruments and vocalists to provide enough power to shake the walls of Sodom and Gomorrah, or tone it down to a more subtle acoustic style as appropriate. In a live Church setting, we seek to blend into the background, with a focus on congregational participation during the liturgy. We can also do praise and worship music before the liturgy begins to bring the Holy Spirit in the house!
We are not "performers". We pray through our instruments and voices. We do not seek center stage. We seek to encourage glorious praise and worship in the congregation - raising the roof unto the Lord
Focus is Jesus
We believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. When we play mass, it is all about playing with the attitude of adoration of the real presence of Jesus' body, blood, soul and divinity in the form of bread and wine.
We believe it is our privilege to offer ourselves, our talents and our music to the Lord to enhance the beauty of both the liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Youth Ministries
We find that our praise and worship style is particularly effective in the youth ministry context. We love playing for youth events and structure our music to appeal to the youth. We find that many parents bring their youngsters and young adults to our services because of the music. While we know that we are NOT the reason for them being at church (Jesus is the reason!), but if music is the carrot then rock on!
Retreats
We support retreats, such as the Our Lady of Light Men's Retreat in the spring and other retreat settings such as Cursillo etc. We interchange musicians as required and due to availability, but we have the talent and sound equipment to support any venue required of us.
